Don't take it personally, bloodnock.
The English plundered the world for centuries and think it is still theirs by right. They have always lived of the wealth of other nations
They don't like having to give some of it back either

steady flow of funds north disprove that surely?

oil is a new thing, england has supported the less priveliged corners of the country without a murmour, scotland had oil but what ya gonna grumble about when its all gone? BTW, dont you use it too?

we won at culloden so tecnically speaking its ours really..

you only won on the day because the Duke of Cumberland (inventor of the Ring sausage) had the Referee in his payroll....Final score was 17-46 but wi king George the Second (a German) taking a Dive just like the Prima Donna he was (and which is still a trait in English football) you won on penalties...nothing new there then..

bit late to cry foul, anyway your lot were on both sides, so you cant claim to be a country united

ive seen braveheart twice and rob roy 3 times, but seeing as how neither scottish icon was played by a scot i suppose they fail on historical accuracy

You just dont see the Bigger picture huh....if it wasnt for Scots sharing our Financial guile, Inventevness, Ingenuity and our explorational prowess...you english would still be Living in the Middle ages, the money generated to fund the Barnet formula, well its only the money we gave you in the first place, this was not english money created by Ralph Patel on the streets of London...and if that was Scottish Generosity at its finest we also Gave you Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling...you have so much to be thankful for...

French?.....serves you right!

The Battle of Culloden (Scottish Gaelic: Blàr Chùil Lodair) (16 April 1746) was the final clash between the French-supported Jacobites and the Hanoverian British government in the 1745 Jacobite Rising. Culloden dealt the Jacobite cause—to restore the House of Stuart to the throne of the Kingdom of Great Britain—a decisive defeat.

The Jacobites—the majority of them Highland Scots, supported the claim of James Francis Edward Stuart (the "Old Pretender") to the throne; the government army, under the Duke of Cumberland, younger son of the Hanoverian sovereign, King George II, supported his father's cause. It too included Highland Scots, as well as Scottish Lowlanders and English troops.

More of a Franco - German affair, fought mostly by Scots from all over - with a few others as well.

Truly a protestant - catholic arguement really. Remember the protestant Germans were given the English crown ahead of 50 odd catholics in line of succession, because they were protestants  An anti-catholic bias which is still part of English law today
