Myth or reality .................................. Reality numb nuts.
The council may not stop you and check, The Police may not stop you and check.
But your insurance company will decline your claim if you had an accident.
A mate of mine got flashed by a speed camera ................... he tried to get his wife to take the points .............. the Police reported her for driving without insurance when they confirmed she was not the holder of a PH drivers badge.
Think on you nutter ........................... everyone is telling you your full of $hit but its still pouring out ya mouth.

B. Lucky

stick to making signs and consoling your criminal mates then...

how did the cops know it was a PHV? ill tell you

by the signs i keep saying can come off when its in family use....

My insurance states

Drivers

Any personwho is driving on the insured's orders or with the insured's permission. Provided that the persondriving holds a license to drive the vehicle or has heldand is not disqualified for holding or obtaining such a license.
Now you could interpret this in 2 ways. Does this mean the person just needs a drivers license? It doesn't say "drivers" license. Or does it mean a council license? It doesn't say that either. The simplest way to sort this out would be to ask your insurance company direct the question. My car is a licensed Hackney carriage/private hire vehicle. My wife does not hold a council drivers badge. Can she drive the vehicle for social, domestic or pleasure purposes without such a drivers badge? Get the answer in writing from them. If they say she can drive the vehicle you will need to have it in writing BEFORE she drives the car because I would bet my last shirt on them denying that she could drive in the event of an accident.

Don't forget that in a court of law, your or my interpretation of what is written stands for nothing. It is your responsibility to make sure that the driver is covered.

Not so sure about the insurance either....once a vehicle is licensed and so long as the license aint surrendered, the vehicle remains licensed and your Mrs better be licensed in order to driver it.

so when the cops ANPR reads your plate one night i wonder if your up for having it crushed....

of course you could always ask for a MOT certificate whilst at the test centre for the test anyway...

whats confusing is that all MOT's must be booked onto the VOSA database, the tester has to enter his chip and pin smartcard and resultes recorded online/on the database automatically, cant see how a tin pot LA can over ride VOSA

If the vehicle is going in for a certificate of conformance, the tester does not log on to the MOT system. It is a tick sheet. My limos have 2 tests a year. The first one is for mot and private hire, our council don't go in for the certificate lark, and the second one is just for private hire. Both tests are exactly the same but for the second test the tester does not log on.

Who makes signs???????????????? and my criminal mates were undertaking the same activity you are suggesting is legal, so it surely follows that the act of driving a PHV without a PH drivers licence is illegal.

You have to be winding people up with this refusal to accept that your right and everyone else is wrong.

Stick to driving PH buddy ............. you may wanna be a hack but your what makes the HC boys feel superior, and on this issue I see their point.

B. Lucky :D

I could enter the Argos URL as my website, if I did would you think that I own Argos ............. the site is about a friends business not my own.

but in order to prove perjury you must first prove that an offence had been committed or there would have been no prosecution to avoid. It would have been my mate that would have been doen for perjury if the Police had decided to report him for it, not his wife.
