Escaped prisoner phones taxi from Aintree superstore

A PRISONER escaped from guards at Copy Lane police station and phoned a taxi to pick him up from the Asda superstore in Aintree.

Damien Yates, 21, from Kirkby, was arrested and charged on Saturday for two burglaries in the Knowsley area.

He was being taken from the Netherton police station to Knowsley Magistrates Court by security firm GLS, but broke free – still handcuffed – and ran onto a local estate.

He was later spotted getting into a taxi in the Asda car park in Ormskirk Road.

Yates is described as white, 5ft 8in and of slim build with short dark brown hair.

Merseyside Police said at the time of his disappearance he was still in handcuffs and was wearing a black fleece, black tracksuit trousers and black trainers.

He is known to frequent the Kirkby area. Anyone with information should call police on 709 6010 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

I would be inclined to agree if all of the so called Taxis were genuine HC but some of them are converted vans and there's nothing genuine about them. Also there are the saloon vehicles that are taxis too and how are we suppose to ever get it together if we continue to nit pick amongst ourselves within the trade. No wonder we couldn't organise ourselves to have any effect against things we don't believe to be right from the LA's and like when we can't work together doing the same job but with different methods of obtaining work it's just silly and so PC it gets on me tits

Liverpool police also released this...

Latest news reports advise that a cell of 4 terrorists has been operating in Merseyside, Liverpool. Police advised earlier today that 3 of the 4 have been detained. The Merseyside Regional Police Commissioner stated that the terrorists Bin Thievin, Bin Drinkin and Bin Fightin have been arrested on immigration issues.

The Police advise further that they can find no one fitting the description of the fourth cell member, Bin Workin, in the area. Police are confident that anyone who looks like Workin will be very easy to spot in the community.
