I don't know what this new outfit is paying the Airport but they are in for a big surprise if they think they can make big bucks out of the limited work they will get. If it's any comfort to this new taxi or private hire firm whatever it is, I should remind them that Airportcarz couldn't make it pay and neither could the private hire firm before them so they better be prepared for a bumpy ride. Don't say you weren't warned.

Regards

JD

Come Sunday Airportcarz will be packing their bags and we wait in anticipation to see what appears in its place? I understand this pclimo outfit might not now be the successor so could that be one dead duck in the water? I wonder who will be next?

Regards

Providing there's a plate on the rear, and the operator is properly licensed, and as I'm from the deep south, I couldn't give an edited by admin. :D

Just picked up a copy of Plane Talk, Manchester Airport inhouse news issue254.
Following a tendering exercise during 2008,the airport concession alongside the Hackney Cabs, has changed from Airportcarz to Professional Chauffeur Services (PCS). We would like to thank Airportcarz for their hard work during their time on the airport and welcome Professional Chauffeur Services. The change takes place from 1st February.

Long time from 2008 until now.

My money is on pcs pulling out but one would assume such a move would leave the door open for the next highest tender, could that be Airportcarz?

I understand Airportcarz are not interested in the contract.

There is a rumour circulating at the Airport that they may still owe Manchester Airport monies from the previous contract but that has not been verified.

Not really a long time JD.....the contract with the airport had to end at a certain point?

But I do wonder if the airportcarz situation was thought to be illegal and on the outer edges of 'O' licensing regs.....how PH expect their regime to be legitimate?

No doubt the trade at the airport will be chuffed that airportcarz are soon to be gone, but I do wonder what their views towards PH will be.....more interestingly what Manchesters LO will think.

regards

CC

Surely if a PH Company takes over at Manchester providing everything is licenced in Manchester it shouldn't be a problem should it :?
