Why is it ok to hire an illegal limo?

Who says it's ok?

If it isn't, maybe a few high profile prosecutions of punters will get people to check that their limo company are kosher?

What are the punters going to be charged with? Has there ever been a case of a punter being charged with using an unlicensed taxi/ph/limo?

I'm not moaning mate.
Your the one who who wants to debate the subject.
Wasted 18 months of my time with doing just that.
Don't criticize someone for not doing something, when you don't have all the facts.

I think you might have a little to much time on your hands, as you always seem to try and develop posts

"or do we just leave it in the hands of our venerated LO's, Vosa and the police?
"

I don't know? have you tried bringing your concerns to their attention, to see what they have to say on the matter?

i have no vested interest in limo operations do i, but id have thought it was more important to some, obviously ime wide of the mark by a country mile....whatever that is

Again, you make assumptions

Without my input and advice, LDC would probably still NOT be licensing Limousines 8) .
Along with MANY OTHER legitimate Limo operators, we attempted to do the very thing you suggest.
However, for a number of reasons(one being lack of support from the very people we tried to help) I decided to just concentrate on running my own business.

Quote i have no vested interest in limo operations

You also know very little, about it.

i couldnt agree more steve, and i have looked over the info regarding your input, which i wouldnt dream of understating or underestimating

all i asked for was a suggestion for a "fast track" alert, as it is ive put a few links on my website to the horror stories, as you say, joe public wont be told or educated the easy way

let peace break out now...............

[i]

I didn't know we were at war :?

I really don't think there is a fast track eusasmiles.zip

I appreciate what you are trying to do, but it's sometimes best to do as I do, give them the basic facts and then let them find out the hard way :doubt: :doubt:
Even with all the info i have on my site, most still don't check that everyone they are getting quotes from, are properly licensed and insured correctly.
Suprisingly, that also applies to the exec work i do. :?

Wouldn't it be better to find out now if you have put something that is wrong than find out when someone sues you? You don't have to put it on here, a pm will do.

Note the use of the word if

Now either it is ok or it isn't grandad, so which is it?

I am not sure what you are getting at. I have never said that it is ok to use any illegal car, Hack PH or limo. I hope that is clear. Now perhaps you can explain what the punters could be charged with?

To me that seems a strange way of doing things. Don't go chopping your nose off to spite your face. If your council will license then that is the way to go. As a second option, restricted PCV. But to use another operators license in another district would be down the list. What happens if the unthinkable happens and he goes bust, it could happen in this economic climate. What if the tax man or VAT man asks him about this vehicle and it's income. Don't think I am being funny with you, if you are seriously entering the limo world you need to speak to a few limo ops like Steve and myself. Well Steve may not be so keen with you being on his doorstep. We can actually help you find your way in the business.
