It gives you the option to add the charge or you can opt to include it in the price.

so if you opt to include it in the price do you loose 10% of the fare
example:fare is 20.00 if you add 10% you charge them 22.00 and with option of 10% in the price you only receive 18.00 is that right
many thanks

I believe its added onto the fare regardless.

They're sending me some bumf through the post on it.

Even I have resisted credit cards up until now, but it seems more and more people who get in on nights asks about cards nowadays.
The stopping at cash machines drives me mad, as there is never anywhere to stop.

I don't relish it for short trips, too much fannying about at the end, but if I do go for it, I won't advertise it to loudly, but it will be handy to have.

£3.25 a week can't be bad, providing it's not an 'introductory offer' that shoots up next year?

1.0 We reserve the right to take back the Payment Terminal during the Term and charge you the
Cancellation Charges if you do not process a Payment Transaction through the Payment Terminal for a period of
21 consecutive days unless that period is otherwise extended as mutually agreed between us.

1.2. We reserve the right to alter the Regular Weekly Rental Charge.

Hmmm? :?

And:

Quote:
6.5 In the event that you return the Payment Terminal to us for any reason within the Term thereby
exercising a recognised right between the parties to unilaterally break the Term of this Agreement
early, you will be liable to pay to us the following Cancellation Charges : -

6.5.1 should the return occur within the first 12 months of entering into this Agreement the Cancellation
Charges shall be fixed at £250.00

6.5.2 should the return occur within the 24 months following on from the first 12 month period in clause 6.5.1
the Cancellation Charges shall be fixed at £50.00.

6.5.3 We reserve the right to collect Cancellation Charges from your credit/debit card details that you have
provided to us and you hereby authorise us to do so.

So not as straight forward as we thought, no credit cards offered for three weeks (holidays?!) they may have you over a barrel for £250.

I'm talking myself out of this idea even before I've started.

The TaxiPay product looks the best value. That is free to set up and only costs the punter 6.5% extra. You can stop using it any time with no penalty. And it can process bookings over the phone. I might give it a go!

Bit cold for that.

I've taken a Cab Card machine, they're doing a lot of buiness in London at the moment, I've managed to negotiate a one year try it or leave it deal with no fees, apparantly drivers, quote: 'love them'.

I'll try it and see, its another means for the punter to pay.

If you know that you are going to be away for 3 weeks, I would think a phone call to them would make things right.
