bl**dy hope not!! i'm not that flabby yet!

Joking aside and perhaps i was being a tad provocative but i do know what you mean when you describe the drivers the media seem to interview! I have often made reference to them myself; extras out of lock, stock.....incapable of articulating a sentence and dressed to the nines in their string vests and flip flops!

Perhaps what is needed and what would help strengthen our case would be to have a proper spokesperson who can put our case across to the media and the respective parties, who can deliberate on our behalf and who is intelligent.............we must have some drivers who meet that criteria surely?

The LTDA's finest will be present, Steve McNamara is a well known face within the trade and the local media, I'm sure he will articlate our point amicably and the reasons behind the drive in.

But I'll guarantee they'll find a 'colourful' character as well who will probably destroy any good the officials on the day will do.

The PH side of this issue is laid out in PH Courier mag http://www.phcmag.co.uk/current-issue/02-2009-163.pdf (nb takes ages to download).

The impression given by some in the black cab trade, that the 'booking' office is a small put up hut/booth, doesn't stand up IMO if the picture shown in the mag is the so-called offending building. :?

Its certainly not a temporary structure, the ticket booth has been in the square for over 20 years.

The neanderthal minority will use many avenues to further their own views no matter how wrong in law they happen to be, that also includes lies.

The LTDA will stick to the facts, as in PH cars touting outside venues, touts who mascerade as booking agents and the fact WCC allows them to stop at the bus stop in question, but not for 45 minutes.

The fact this is allowed with no apparant enforcement from WCC also has to be answered.

But regardless, the 10 chest beaters will bang away as anonymous posters on computers across London with their little red heads steaming as they do. :D

Its quite embarrasing, especially as the young pretender, Grant Davis, is the leader of the gang, know what I mean.

I would hope many in the black cab trade will continue banging on about illegal touting, in the same way as many in the PH side do.

But that building isn't a tout's building, and providing cars are booked from that office prior to the customers getting into the licensed vehicle, I really can't see what's the problem. :?

The Merc was different, as in it was illegaly parked and not a Minicab, this operation has been facilitated by WCC.

Now the council say it was never their intention for Minicabs to be 'ranked' up for up to an hour, so we'll see what comes of this in the future.

On the other hand the company (W1) needs to have drivers somewhere near the booking office so as to call them up to pick up a booking.

I've suggested the Car Park (WCC owned) opposite, the cars are out the way of the public, so no temptation, and they're nearby for their lawful purpose of picking up a booked job.

I should take the job at TFL. :D

If the weather remains as bad as predicted the snow will bring London to a stand still before the taxis get chance
