Our chum Walid, did a sterling job putting the pictures of his works night out on his Bebo account for all to see.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to deny the inevitable allegations that any distribution of such paraphernalia is down to us. We had nothing to do with it. Walid's pics were on his account for 4 days before I even heard about the bloody pictures.

Btw, we don't mind taking the blame or the credit if it is down to us.

Whoever came up with that deserves a medal but it just goes to show how people and companies are vulnerable to attack over the internet.

If you use the powers you are entrusted with unwisely, then there is no hiding place. Sooner or later someone will dig you up when you are least able to defend yourself and have it all to lose . . . .

What I find even more strange is some peoples inability to accept the inevitability of their situation.

It seems that to walk away with some dignity is not even on the radar. Their intransigence just makes a mockery of everything they claim to stand for.

So a mush puts up pictures of folks at a party on his bebo site, and he decides that those pictures should be available to the world by not making them private.

Are you sayin that someone putting a link to those pictures is at fault?

wheres the Gripe...all that was shown is in the public domain anyway..if it were to be kept private then the proprieter/owner/contributor to their Bebo site should have it set to friends only Viewing and obviously they didnt...any photos or story links simply led back to the original site be they photo Image or Url, so in actual fact the only images that people saw were from the Bebo site itself and that was under the control of its owner. if anyones to blame its the owner of the Bebo Webpage because no one else contributed ..

as for the legality of posting links...an URL is just like an Address and theres no Law im sure banning the showing of an address

There isn't.
It 's a bit like someone sueing The Sun for libel.
The BBC or The Times can report that The Sun is being sued, by whom, summarise the libel allegation (carefully) and say which edition/ page of the Sun the alleged libelous story appears on. All without committing libel themselves.
If they repeat the alleged libelous content, that is a different matter and they too could be sued.

Glad you've finally got to grips with documents/files left on webservers in the public domain - I seem to remember you, your boyfriend and old Marky boy Sussex having a problem grasping that concept when a document was left on a publicly accessable server and then cried THEFT

Not defending the stupidity of Walid whoever - he should acknowledge his stupidity, and those that are the butt of the fun should beware of throwing stones, and accept their new found fame
