Zones what zones, do you not take any notice of the fuhrer in London when he had the best practice published that said zone must be abolished

I did mention a computer system, zones tend to be essential in data dispatch.

As this thread has mentioned the strikes by the lads at the refineries, I feel able to comment on them.

I say well done, importing labour when the country is falling apart is pure madness, and specifically banning local lads is wrong, and wrong big-time.

I think the number of refineries shouldn't be restricted.

If you want to own one, you should. :D

It's nice to see that some people in this country have managed to find a back bone

Its a drive in to Trafalgar Square to protest against Westminster City Council.

I'll tell you what will happen, 2000 Taxis will turn up, and the other 12'000 will continue to work.

That will be it.

That may be so GBC, at least the public will still get a service, a point will be made to the powers that be and if even one member of the general public is made aware that there can be serious repucussions from getting into an unlicenced vehicle and is saved from the torturous ordeal of rape or serious sexual assult then i say it will be worth it!

I'll be there, putting myself out for my industry. Perhaps you should come down too, you may even get to meet some of us from "the other site" and realise we are not all Nazis

We are all part of a much wider Europe now whether we like it or not. As members of this much wider Europe we are part of a free market which means that any person from any member state can get employment in any member state that they choose. No country in Europe can now say who can work anywhere. Gordon Brown was fundamentally wrong when he said British jobs for British workers. He could not possibly deliver on this but it sounded good at the time for him. Now unless they are going to "find" some new jobs for British workers at this site, I can see those who will no longer have a job will be going to the European court of human rights and will probably win.

Just returned from the very well attended demo, we managed to grind the west end & surrounding areas to a halt for a good 2 hours.

Unfortuatly for GBC there where no neo ****, swastica wearing, right wing biggots amongst the thousands who made the effort

The issue here is a company said it would only use it's Italian workforce. No locals were given a chance to apply.

That don't sound like a free market to me.

Evening Standard Article

Quote:
Martin Low, director of transportation at Westminster council, said: “This is about getting people home safely at night and there is no room for protectionist trade measures".

Fighting talk methinks.

What kind of measures do the council have in place with regards to passenger safety when it comes to minicabs?

I know now that they don't have a knowledge test but are they CRB checked like all the others outside London?

I think the HCs would be as well to try and get some kind of knowledge test implemented for the minicabs of London.

I noticed that this article pointed out that the customer paid first then got the cab what if there was a problem and the cab driver threw them out without completing the journey what happens then. I don't understand why taxis cannot be run in London the same as they are throughout the rest of the Uk major towns and cities
