Dear Colleague,

Due to recent events, I have been asked to organise the quarterly meeting of regions 5 & 6 of the NTA. Admittedly this is perhaps a similar move to allowing a lunatic to take charge of the asylum.

The above aside, it more or less guarantees yours truly attending the meeting.

The meeting will be held on 4th March 2009 at the Sale Excelsior Club, Symons Road, Sale, M33 7FJ.

The meeting will commence from 10.45hrs, coffee, tea and biscuits will be available upon arrival.

As you will be aware, I sent out a consultation earlier this week concerning Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, it is important all members read the consultation and bring their views to the meeting in order that we can discuss and hopefully form a united response to the DFT.

I take this opportunity to welcome Warrington Association into the NTA.

If any of you wish for items to be added to the agenda, please let me know by 25th February 09.

If you are unable to attend, please let me know.

regards,

Wayne Casey
Administration Officer

Why don't one of you change your name to the Real Preston hackney carriage association? Or give yourself a little blue blood and call yourself the Royal Preston hackney carriage association? or why not plain old Preston taxi association? Whats in a name? lol

So let me get this straight? There are now two Preston hack associations and they are both in the National association? Is that right?

No let me give you the details of what as gone on,

I was asked if the PHCA, Could join up with me, at first i said no but becase of the contiuning request a meeting was called and was very well attened which i always get a good turn out at my meetings around 100 drivers, and a vote was taken in August 2007. every one in that room voted in favor of the move, excpet one who did not come to the meeting, and that was the Treasurer. who did not agree.

in the way it was done, so they give notice of another meeting in september 2007, and invited this person to atten.

at the meeting in September againg over 100 drivers turn up BUT HE DID NOT, SO A VOTE WAS TAKEN AND WAS AGREED TO REMOVE HIM AS TREASURER, AND VOTED AGAIN TO JOIN ME.

Again he did not agree, this time i asked our solicitor to get involved, so we agive notices of a meeting in January 2008, and we hand delverd the notice to his home, stating what was to happnen, his removel and PHCA TO JOIN ME.

we invited the council, the NTA, OUR SOLICITORS WHO DID THE MINUTES.

The council did not trune up never thought they would, now this is the best part the director of the region of the NTA did come. and saw what went on.

And who did not come yes the very same person that had never turne up at any of the three meeting.

Now i ask what more can we have done. so i have the PHCA.

I see, so how many associations do you have under your banner is it just Bury, Bolton and Preston? What about Salford have you ever thought of trying to convince them to join your Northwest associatiated group? Just think, if you got most of the associations in the Northwest under your banner you could call yoursellf the Northwest taxi association, just imagine how much clout that would have? lol

I visualise you becoming the Berwick of the taxi associations whereby you will eventually become a flag of convenience for the whole of the UK taxi trade. How does that grab you? lol

Regards

JD

Thats a good start Charles. You could always utilise the brains of your members to assist you in your administration. The world is your oyster? From little acorns grow mighty trade associations. lol
