Most mobile terminals charge 10% our fare chart states a surcharge not exceeding 5% can be charged.

How I got over this was putting to our L/O that technically I ain't charging a surcharge its the card company and the payment terminal supplier.
On a £10 fare for example I enter £10 in the terminal it charges the customer £11 I get £10 so its not me charging the surcharge. He allowed us to operate under those conditions provided the signage states whos charging the surcharge and how much it is.So don't worry if theres no surcharge on you're fare chart or indeed if there is.Inform you're licensing of you're intentions with the explanation above. There is a possible way they could stop it but it would be very petty and I'm keeping that to myself for obvious reasons :D

Journey pay are justing starting a new deal providing free terminals no min contract or usage, payments to bank 5-7 working days, they just keep the 10% surcharge.Ideal to get started with.

I think that's how most areas get around it, but I'm not convinced it's 100% legal.

But hey ho. :?
