I was always under the impression Paul Brent was the Director of region 5 but things change and becuase of the debate something struck a wrong chord in my head that the position might have moved to you.

Thanx for clearing the matter up however being secretary would still oblige you to stand by the rules of the organisation would it not?

Regards

JD

Yes JD, Norman Deegan died last year so Mr Brent acted as chair until the AGM where he was voted in as new chairman.

Perhaps we should ask of the make up of the committee of BBBBPA?

It could be the case that all associations become a member of the original Bolton association and decisions are made by Mr Oakes.

Indeed, if this isnt the case, and lets suggest all 5 associations are constituted members but still under the stewardship of Mr Oakes, then the voting entitlement would be quite extraordinary, it would save a lot of fuel as the 5 associations controlled by one person would effectively have a majority in most instances?

The above aside, the fee wasn't paid and membership has ceased.

As for information being passed on, well Mr Oakes was on the NTA email list and was sent a plethora of information during the course of last year, yet I find it quite exraordinary in an association of his size that not a single consultation was responded to?

I suspect Charles will be only too pleased to oblige you on that score. His organisation is growing day by day and I suggest he should change its name to something that reflects its greater representation. I did suggest the northwest taxi association but now I'm thinking along the lines of something of greater National importance such as the "National association of hackney carriage drivers", how about that? lol

Yes JD,

I think that would be a decent idea;

National United Taxi Trade Yeomanry?

But what does Charles think about the idea? Do you think if it was put to his members they would go for it, or would they prefer to remain as they are? Every time Charles adds another association to his banner he has to add another letter to the indistinguishable growing abreviation. Very soon he could have every letter of the alphabet in his associations abrevation. lol he could end up with more letters in his association than that welsh town in North Wales.

I'm only trying to be constructive here I hope Charles takes it on board.

JD

So if each association keeps its own committee and are in effect an association in their own right, where do you fit in to it?

And I concur that the fee was part paid, although not paid in full by a considerable amount.

Thats a good answer Charlie but what role do you play? Are you just a spokesperson for these individual organisations and how do they come together as a group?

I think I just asked that question only in different language.
