just like the nta except for bolton, if they need me i will help them out i do loacl issues not national issues. they will hold there meetings when and were they wish and we attend.

there members make there own decisions and the committee are us take them to council.

I would have to check the records, if you have a query you would need to go through the appropriate channels.

I am inclined not to quote figures on this public forum, in my view that is unprofessional.

I also understand when your association were allowed back into the NTA after the other Bolton association left, you did agree to pay a fee a lot greater than the minimum?

Yes JD,

I think that would be a decent idea;

But what does Charles think about the idea? Do you think if it was put to his members they would go for it, or would they prefer to remain as they are? Every time Charles adds another association to his banner he has to add another letter to the indistinguishable growing abreviation. Very soon he could have every letter of the alphabet in his associations abrevation. lol he could end up with more letters in his association than that welsh town in North Wales.

I'm only trying to be constructive here I hope Charles takes it on board.

JD

yes i do but you know i neaver new that what i do would take of, as i said it never entered my head to be like the NTA, T G AMD GMB. and they do a good job, but nta is behind the times and they know it.

to day members ask what is in it for me you say will you get reposentaion at national level.

at the end of the day its up to members not me, i do what they tell me to do. and some who i do get resoults

Well I seriously think you should consider changing to a more workable and user friendly name instead of adding a letter to the abreviation everytime you add a new association. You could of course state in your letter heading The national associatioon of hackney carriage drivers incorporating the associations of, Bolton, Blackpool, preston etc etc etc. Its worth a thought.

JD

Anyway, to get this thread back on track;

Dear Colleague,

Due to recent events, I have been asked to organise the quarterly meeting of regions 5 & 6 of the NTA. Admittedly this is perhaps a similar move to allowing a lunatic to take charge of the asylum.

The above aside, it more or less guarantees yours truly attending the meeting.

The meeting will be held on 4th March 2009 at the Sale Excelsior Club, Symons Road, Sale, M33 7FJ.

The meeting will commence from 10.45hrs, coffee, tea and biscuits will be available upon arrival.

As you will be aware, I sent out a consultation earlier this week concerning Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, it is important all members read the consultation and bring their views to the meeting in order that we can discuss and hopefully form a united response to the DFT.

I take this opportunity to welcome Warrington Association into the NTA.

If any of you wish for items to be added to the agenda, please let me know by 25th February 09.

If you are unable to attend, please let me know.

regards,

Wayne Casey
Administration Officer

I should point out I was asked to organise the meeting due to recent events, I wouldnt normally organise such meetings :roll:
