They have picked the quickest way of doing it i.e. Statutory Instrument (SI)

The inns and out no-doubt will pop on here soon.

Businesses where the number of taxis or private hire cars in respect of which bookings are taken does not exceed 3 vehicles will not require to be licensed (booking office licence).

Interesting. :-k

The bit i find interesting is(The SI sets out various mandatory conditions to be attached to licences requiring that a record be maintained of all bookings for taxis and private hire cars to record the registration number of the vehicle to fulfil the booking and the name of the driver who undertook the hire) i wonder if this will put a stop to the illegal activity taken place in the yard across from fat sams

iv,e been looking forward to this for years,it was first mentioned about 6 years ago  its been a long wait, hopefully it will get rid of the dole claimants driving taxis and using the ops pin numbers,a tele controller told me recently she knew of an operator with 3 drivers on his cab allowing all 3 to use his pin number, maybe the office owners will start checking who is actually driving their customers about now,as for the dundee ph company im not sure if it will make any difference there, when a driver picks up at fat sams he will simlpy radio all the details in and the controller will log it,its a pity fat sams couldn,t be forced to keep records from their end(can they?)they are a licensed buisness giving buisness to another licensed buisness

I don't see why not, since they are taking the bookings from the customers.
They too may need a licence.
