Anyway, to get this thread back on track;

Dear Colleague,

Due to recent events, I have been asked to organise the quarterly meeting of regions 5 & 6 of the NTA. Admittedly this is perhaps a similar move to allowing a lunatic to take charge of the asylum.

The above aside, it more or less guarantees yours truly attending the meeting.

The meeting will be held on 4th March 2009 at the Sale Excelsior Club, Symons Road, Sale, M33 7FJ.

The meeting will commence from 10.45hrs, coffee, tea and biscuits will be available upon arrival.

As you will be aware, I sent out a consultation earlier this week concerning Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, it is important all members read the consultation and bring their views to the meeting in order that we can discuss and hopefully form a united response to the DFT.

I take this opportunity to welcome Warrington Association into the NTA.

If any of you wish for items to be added to the agenda, please let me know by 25th February 09.

If you are unable to attend, please let me know.

regards,

Wayne Casey
Administration Officer

TBH it's time the old guard in many of the unions/associations f***ed off and allowed a new breed of leader to take the trade forward.

I know one union is doing that, but it needs good folks in the other unions/associations to rise up and bin the old fogies.

But he's older than Clive Dunn.

Plus I'd challenge the use of the word 'forward' :?

I thought he was your new mate. :D

Maybe if the old guard take note of what the new guard are doing, and support them 100% on everything, then there is a place for the pensioners.

Especially when they can be called on at any time to be the bad cop.

Apparantly the new guard in London have arrived in the form of the RMT.

Terrys left wing views would be put to shame by Bob Crow, I'll be interested to see if they recruit anyone, given that the LCDC and the TGWU are struggling to brake the 1000 member barrier.
