We started up from a council house with less than £500 in the bank, last year our turnover was more than £4 million in taxi fares.

Not bad going for only 110 drivers :D

180 drivers driving 110 cars, we started 2008 with 93 cars, it was our best year to date, don't think i'll be able to say the same about 2009!

but you want to rent out more cars?....

how far short of demand do you fall at the moment?

you must be unique operating out through 110 cars none of which you own

as you dont own any cars yourself, and dont take anything off account work, the £4,000,000 in fares is irrelevent surely? - its all gone through and to your fleet car owners

so your companys income is purely derived from radio rents, 110 at whatever the rent is?

if you want to rent out cars as a package, you obviously have the funding to hand, why not just advertise in the local press "ever considered being a taxi driver, cars available from £200/£300 a week all inc"

1/ I'm not going to rent any cars out now just forward planning, thats how i run my business.

2/ We must be unique then, if you say so.

3/ £4,000,000 is irrelevant yes, just shows that our drivers took good wages last year.

4/ Yes thats right, plus we charge comission drivers (non owners) £2.00 per shift worked which pay's for our advertising, last year this was over £30,000.

Primarily this buy/rent option will be only available to existing owner drivers and commission drivers, these guy's know the ropes and should know what they can/can't afford. If this works out i would then consider offering it to newbies.

I have to say it all sounds quite fair to me. I'd certainly prefer your attitude over the attitudes of the people I work with

£4,000,000 between 110 cars = £36K+ each a year, do they need financial help?

what do you charge for a radio?

Your maths are a little flawed, we started the year with 93 cars and ended it with 110, a total of 180 drivers were driving these cars, £100 per week radio rent for the 1st car (£80 second car) but the cars can work 24/7 with multiple drivers (commission drivers get charged £2.00 per shift worked).

You dont have to give figures or justify yourself on this forum......you came on for ideas and some people will try to be constructive....others will try to tear you to bits.

As toots said in an earlier post....you'll need skin of a rhino.

93 slices or 110 slices....der, let me see....der,,,,

why not just talk to your owners, ask if they need the offer of help?

Ok I'll try and go a little slower for you, you are not considering the commission drivers.

Try reading my posts again, i already did speak to my drivers, now i'm trying to get the opinions of other drivers, or am i not supposed to do that on a taxi drivers forum?

How many vehicles and do you want a villa in Spain....the answers easy....sell shares of the company for say £15K each....1 radio = 1 share

let them run it and head for spain.

go as slow as ya want, but you said you dont want new owners/cars, so why ask here. it is only an offer for existing owners, what has the number of "commissioned" drivers got to do with it, i take it they are "jockeys" or paye drivers working for the owners, cant see why they pay anything anyway...
