Do the additives in anyway harm the 'add on' emission systems?
Also do they work?
Why add them?

MAG Diesels and Powerpill sold it too me, they reckon your engine will outlast any other as there are no deposits building up.

Don't ask me the technical bits, have a look at the Powerpill website for more info, all I can say is the most recent GBC Taxi, the TX2 has flown through all the emissions tests to date with no need to rev the hell out of the engine before you go into the test shed.

I'm up at SGS later today for its annual, we'll see how the readings from the 6 monthly compare.

This is the Powerpill website:-

The point I am trying to make is that drivers whose taxis have had the Livingstone emission systems installed (£2,300 inc VAT) STILL use additives to get through the emission test.
I have the TaxiCat system ( Catalytic converter),so I am wary of what I use as an additive in case I damage the system.

I was'nt aware a fuel additive could damage any of the systems, the Powerpill has been tried and tested on thousands of vehicles and comes with a no quibble guarantee that it won't cause any damage. Either way, it does'nt affect me any more, the TX2 is Euro3.

Even better, it passed its plating inspection first time today, total cost: £50 for new pads!

Result :D

Power Pill - Businesses benefit from fuel savings and reduced emissions

Companies that run vehicles continue to look for increased fuel efficiency to reduce their costs. A new product on the UK market, the Power Pill, has recently been tested by companies and individual taxi drivers and shows fuel cost savings of up to 15%. Additionally it addresses the environmental issues by reducing harmful carbon monoxide emissions by up to 80%.

How does it do this? Not all of the fuel that enters your engine is burnt cleanly and some passes out of the exhaust system as poisonous emissions. The Power Pill is an effective catalyst that speeds up the combustion process burning more of the fuel leading to increased efficiency, lower emissions with the added benefit of increased power available.

Dan Monk, Autoline Car Care Centre in Welwyn, Hertfordshire comments “We have been monitoring the benefits of the Power Pill over the last 6 months and have seen the results from several vehicles, both old and new. Our own Mitsubishi Shogun recovery vehicle now runs much more smoothly and has significantly reduced smoke emissions. The vehicle is getting about 25 miles more per tank of fuel, an increase of about 13%. We have also seen that spark plugs, injectors, oil and filters stay significantly cleaner, reducing servicing costs. We are impressed with the Power Pill and we would highly recommend the product to any of our customers.”

What type of vehicles can use the Power Pill? Any car, taxi, van, bus, lorry, motorbike and even JCB’s, forklift trucks and boats can benefit from the Power Pill. It is suitable for petrol and diesel engines of all sizes. It can be used in all engines from the most high-tech to a classic car.

Why is this product different from all the others on the market? There are many engine and fuel treatment products on the market but most are specifically designed to improve only one aspect of engine efficiency. Power Pill dissolves completely to condition the fuel reducing the harmful effects of sulphur and water. This increases the peak flame temperature reducing smoke and harmful emissions and increases the effectiveness of each litre of fuel. The formulation contains a detergent to clean the fuel system and a lubricant to reduce engine wear.

Justin Burgess of JJ Burgess and Sons, Independent Family Funeral Directors supports these claims stating “I started using the Power Pill in November last year in my Audi and was immediately impressed with the improvements in both performance and fuel savings. We are now introducing the Power Pill across our fleet of limousines, not only for the reasons mentioned but just as important to us as a company are the environmental issues such as reducing harmful emissions, plus the added bonus of keeping the engine and fuel system clean, reducing our servicing costs. We highly recommend the Power Pill.”

The formulation was invented by NASA while looking for ways to increase rocket motor efficiency. They discovered a compound that reduced sulphur and water content in fuel to improve combustion. A product development company in New Zealand bought the rights and developed the product into what is now the Power Pill and sold in over 70 countries worldwide.

The product is particularly popular with the London Black Cab trade:
“I started using Power Pill…and immediately started to see improvements in fuel consumption,” says Ken Jackman, driver with Dial-a-Cab.

Arthur Bolt, known to hundreds in the taxi trade through almost 50 years of work at MAG diesels, has this to say in praise of Power Pill: “Power Pill really does work – we have tested all kinds of devices which are designed to give better performance, but in our opinion none have ever achieved results as consistently as Power Pill.”

Leon Warner, Chief Executive of Power Pill UK Ltd is enthusiastic “We have received excellent feedback and many testimonials from companies and individual drivers using the Power Pill. They have all remarked on the benefits of increased petrol efficiencies, reduced emissions and improved performance in their vehicles. We are so confident that the product will work in any vehicle that we offer a 100% money back guarantee if the product does not improve the performance of your vehicle
