In our neck of the woods, the fashion craze amongst a lot of socially inadequate attention seekers is to climb onto the outside of the Tyne Bridge and threaten to jump. This is usually on a Friday or Saturday night and involves the entire nightshift of Gateshead or Newcastle Police Stations, half a dozen fire engines and really hard-pressed Ambulance crews. Thankfully,they are usually talked down after a few hours, much to the consternation of the many ghoulish morons who have pulled up in cars below or are gazing from the windows or balcony of the Hilton
