We didn't manage to get anymore databases uploaded today so i got a well deserved evening off, i hope to be cracking on with the editing again tomorrow as soon as they are put onto our system. Hopefully the night off will do me some good as I've felt a little under the weather for most of the day.

One would assume that is all you'll be doing for a while unless you tell us otherwise or unless of course you break something

Just received some weird news from my GM, our vehicle/drivers databases have now been uploaded so we will hopefully get those completely edited today/tonight, however when these are done we will not be getting any further stuff to work on until the middle of next week. This completely screws up my schedule as i had planned to be training the staff at the same time.....Oh well better get on with compiling a new schedule! :D

I've been waiting for something to go wrong and today the s**t finally hit the fan, while my GM and myself were busy working on our new system one of my tele ops came into my office and told us that their computers had gone down. We did a couple of reboots (which normally resolves most problems) to no avail, we then rebooted our radio and data systems, again no good, in total the system was down for three and a half hours....... OUCH!

Then as if by magic the whole system somehow managed to reboot it's self twice (none of us have ever seen this happen before), when it came up again after rebooting the whole system was working just fine, almost as if nothing had ever been wrong.....DOH. Something really strange happened here yet none of us are any the wiser, it's almost as if Sirius (the name of our current system) is just playing up and saying good bye before we switch her off for good.........Typical woman! :D

I have always thought of her as being a woman, she's tempermental, lovable, and annoying at times. :D

Even after the trials and tribulations of today we managed to get our vehicle database completely finished, tomorrow we're doing the driver database which should only take us about 4 or five hours to finish off. This means i should get an unexpected weekend off, i've not planned to do anything just in case we get anymore nasty surprises....let's hope we don't!

A quick story about our ex LO:

When i first went to the council to purchase my operators licence i arrived with £20 short, it was late in the day and we we due to start trading the following morning. The LO reached into his own pocket and pulled out £20 of his own money to loan to me so that i could purchase the licence.......this was the beginning of a fantastic relationship which lasted about 15 years until he retired.......These council guy's aren't all bad!
