a one man operater p/hire lived in Bolton, now as gone and moved to Bury.

He as been told by Bolton council that he can not do jobs which pick up and drop off in Bolton. as he will now have to apply for a Bury operater licnece to work with Bury licence plates. as he pays Bury counicl Rates or what ever they or called for this house his house nor council.

when he replates he will probably plate for Bury unless he has an ops center in Bolton, where he resides is only a factor if he wishes to run from there

either that or he gets a Bolton HC plate, if thats possible

He can pick up where and when he likes.

What Bolton might be saying is that he can no-longer have a Bolton PH ops license as he doesn't live there. In that case he will need a Bury version and his vehicle and driver's badge will need to be issued by Bury.

But even if he did change all his licenses to Bury there is no statute stopping him working solely, as a PH, in Bolton.

I don't think that would be allowed. Booking must be received by a Bolton operator and can only be passed to a bolton PH car. I think it would be ok if he was HC.
I may be wrong.

Sussex knows more about the 1976 act than I do, so I'd go with his opinion

He could always get a Berwick plate and badge and do away with ops license.

It seems to me that whatever answer you're given it ain't going to be the one you want so why not just answer the question yourself and be done with it
