 Post subject: Licencing Officers

Do you think it's too much to ask to have properly trained Licencing Officers with proper qualifications (not unlike the Btec/VRQ/NVQ they expect us to have) relating to what they are actually licencing working in the LA instead of a bunch of pen pushers, or, am I wrong and we already do but haven't noticed

Unfortunately the good LO's get mixed up with the power seeking idiots that make many peoples lives misery's.

We used to have reasonable LO'S when we had a dedicated Taxi and PH office.

Since all licencing got shoved together in 1 department the LO's are just above useless IMO.

Thinking about it the department aint even called licencing its called Environmental Services, which to me sounds like waste collection.

we have no dedicated (in terms of post title) LO's, they are enviromental health dept officers moonlighting

Our Lo has always been a general purpose bod dealing with everything from pub licenses to gypo sites and taxis but he is now reduced to just 16 hours a week and spends most of that on the phone coming up with excuses why he can't do nothing about issues which arise
