I can't really do that as the particular service that her company supplies is the only one of it's kind in my area. Her job is commission based so i have already asked for a new rep and also that she receives no commission for the work that she has already done on my project. I'm guessing here but I'd imagine her commission would have been quite hefty too, I'm spending a lot of money on this project which she has already put more than 6 weeks work into. This may sound harsh but i hope the bi**h gets what she deserves.......F**K ALL commission and a god almighty bol***ing.

I think you may be defamating her with your comments.

I hopefully have a bit more sense, I've not named her or the organisation that she works for, not even the specific service that they supply. :D

I agree she probably was. Out of curiousity was alchohol involved when she was spouting her opinion. Not that is any excuse, but, it is certainly an explanation for her behaviour.

Quote:
When we started out with this project (several weeks ago) i drew her attention to the fact that i did not want my competitors getting any hint of what i was planning. I instructed her that this project was highly confidential and should not be discussed with anyone other than people within her organisation and the third party suppliers she used to complete the task we had asked for.

This is where a confidentiality agreement should have been signed by her and third party suppliers as and when the need arose.

Alcohol was on sale at the restaurant, i don't know if she consumed any. Like i said previously, i have not had any other problems with her or her company regarding confidentiality, or anyhing else, I'll know better next time though!

With hind sight we learn a lot of things. I personally don't trust anybody when relating to confidentiality and business even if an agreement is signed and I tell people only what they need to know to do the job. I hope there isn't too much fallout from this error of judgement

I've just had a telephone conversation with the rep's regional sales manager, he did his best to avoid all of my questions regarding her conduct/comments, he just stuck to dealing with the task that i had originally hired them for (producing a media product).

He said that he wanted to deal with the other matter during our meeting tomorrow afternoon, somethings gone off but I'm not quite sure what yet, tomorrow should be very interesting indeed.

This whole rep scenario has been bugging me terribly all day, just before 5pm today i finally decided to give my brief a call. To give you an indication as to the importance of this call for me, this was the 1st time i have spoken to him or any other brief, about a business related matter during my previous 18 years of being in business.

He offered me sound advice completely free of charge, he talked about possible breach of confidentiality, as well as a possible slur on my character which could damage me during the course of carrying out the day to day running of my business.

I will post an update after my meeting with the rep's bosses tomorrow evening.

The rep's boss turned up bright and early for our meeting this afternoon with his PR bandwagon in tow, this was the first time we had met and to be honest he seemed OK at first. Everything seemed to be going along nicely until i asked "What action are you going to take against her?" Err we're not, we haven't received a formal complaint against her yet, she's worked for us for the last 16 years and nothing like this has ever happened to her before, she's treated like a princess by everyone at our office.

I should have just thrown the idiot out there and then, instead i told him that i'd be speaking to my brief in the morning to prepare a formal complaint about her comments/coduct. The saga continues!

He didn't agree with your point of view so that makes him an idiot! You are starting to sound like a couple of chaps from Edinburgh. Lets be right here, you never even heard the comments yourself, you only got them second hand. What is to say that the context of any alleged comment has not been exagerated. I think you are in danger of loosing the plot by immersing yourself in your own self importance.
You say that this company is the only one in your area that can do the work that you require but you seem hell bent on making any working relationship with them impossible.

I think the fella has got the hump, as would have I.

He is doing the best thing by talking to his brief and going from there.

Sometimes you just have to make a stand.

There is also another well known phrase, "don't cut off your nose to spite your face."

I think it should be put into perspective it's a taxi office it's not MI5. Whatever the secret business plan is the competition is already behind. :D
