Sorry toots, but if ppl were honest I'd have no need to do this, but I looked for 6 mths and read the continual Sussex and co lets try to mess it up for the Hacks posts, and could contain myself no longer, this is Taxi Driver Online and not Private Hire Online isn't it?


If you had been reading this for as long as you have you will have already read my opinion on the differences of HC and PH. Where I am there is only one difference and that is HC get to pick up off the street as well as work the PH systems. Nobody should have to pay for a plate when they should be free. Having said that there should have been more managed de-reg than there has been. A taxi driver is a taxi driver the only difference is how they get the work :D

It isn't personalities, it's the down right way some ppl gloat on others loses, and certain others who actively post thousands of times hoping to be seen as some cabby God, like my friend above said earlier what comes around goes around, lets wait to hear him bitching in 2 yrs time about too many cabs in Chester, his tune will change once his wallet suffers and he'll then understand why dereg is bad and why plates used to change hands for money.

Oi, JD have a go at being Independant as a true HC should be.

I thought that being independent meant doing what you wanted. That`s what I am doing what I want. Not what you think I should be doing.So I guess that means I am more independent than you.

I agree Toots, but this particular poster comes on TDO about once a year, posts on loads of threads, then departs back to his south coast manor.

Then he registers again as something else, and off we go again. :D

The mere fact that all those bothering to debate with him are 100% hackney carriage owners/drivers hasn't quite got into his thick skull, as he can't fathom out that most of the UK's cab trade work in un-restricted areas, and even in restricted area there are many who don't particular care about restrictions as they don't need civil servants to protect their business.

So in short Mr Doom will be off soon. That's of course until he returns next year. :lol: :lol:

Ok, I've had enough of this now but let me put you straight.

I have only one name here.

An Independant is a driver who works without a radio

The average driver pays in 10 to 15k pa renting a car

The average owner driver pays 10 - 15k pa

So how does paying 25k for a plate seem unreasonable given that once you pay it off it's no longer a cost and becomes an asset, renting and even owning a PH car is dead money.

If you pay 25k for one and have the competition of say 100 isn't that better than getting a free plate and having to compete with 300?


I know I won't get a sensible answer from a couple of you so I won't expect one.
