One of your examples would imply that it is indeed a falling inflection. Rising inflections would imply 'yes/no' answers whilst a falling inflection is more likely to require more than a 'yes/no' answer. But I have to agree people do use rising inflections inappropriately. I tend to use more falling inflections when I'm working cos they are more authoritative :D

It does down here too but it's also used as a 'no show' and don't forget about the 'bogey man' which was used by parents to scare the living $hit outta their kids :lol:
