This is where the media lets ppl down, they don't tell the whole facts about what they report, would it suprise you to learn that the Iraqi's are mostly Catholic and Christian's, and that it's the Kurds up north of the country that are Muslim.

No it doesn't surprise me at all but I was still of the opinion that Hamas is muslim

Fair comment, but St George wasn't English and I doubt he was white either.

I don't think that matters much either I think it's more a symbolic gesture that we should try to keep hold of. We should be proud to be British end of :D

No, actually an Iraqi did.

Why do you feel the need to follow me about putting down all I try to educate you with (awaits standard sarcastic reply) you may only have Scottish ppl to interact with, but where I am I have the whole world around me, and quite the opposite to what you and the media might or might not think of them, most of them are nice ppl and you can learn more interacting than you can reading about it.

Next question?

Yes, it would surprise a lot of people, including the CIA:

Iraq: Muslim 97% (Shia 60%-65%, Sunni 32%-37%), Christian or other 3%.

Well that must be right then, I'm telling you what I said came out of the mouth of an Iraqi, and he said it to me I didn't ask him, maybe he was fibbing, and prior to that I thought they were Muslim's tbh, but consider this Christianity started in the Middle East, it's not the English idea that a lot of ppl think it is, which brings us full circle to the St George post earlier in the thread, and lets face it the CIA wouldn't lie to any of us would they?

But in the days of Christ wasn't the Middle East under occupation as part of the Roman Empire? And early Christianity was just a tiny Jewish sect, which was in turn probably small compared to the indigenous population, so that tells us nothing about the present day.

And Islam didn't even exist until a few hundred years after that!!

Compare and contrast the Middle East in these two maps - I suspect the Iraqi was pulling your leg.

There are a lot of christians in the middle east and surrounding areas but the vast majority are muslim. I do know that in Egypt they live quite happily side by side and other then the dress for the women you wouldn't know the difference. I don't think religion is ever a problem until it is used for political gain and power :D

Really, So why is there a need for all the security out there. I have just brought a couple back from Heathrow who have been out there for a holiday and they could not believe that they needed an armed escort where ever they travelled.

That's when they travel across the desert it's a hideout for terrorists. The police are armed but they are in a lot countries and the other police in white uniforms are what they call tourist police.
