Taxi Driver Online

This is what a member of the public said to me after an incident today and i think that on reflection certainly in Stamford he's right. heres why

The incident was yet another of Wayne the pains drive bys where he comes steaming past blaring his horn (at me) but annoying or frightening my passenger and a nearby resident in his front garden who then remonstrated with me to do something about him but as i tried to explain to him the driver doesn't work for me and the only way he can do something about it was to complain to the council.

Later the same day the same driver through a load of ripped up bits of paper into my vehicle half of them ending up on the street I then had to spend ten minutes picking up about 100 bits of paper from both inside my vehicle and outside. I decided to do something about it by making a formal complaint to the council street rangers for litter throwing but all that happened was that a call centre operative took a few details and told me someone will get back to me knowing the council as I do NOTHING WILL HAPPEN

The driver concerned then phoned me up and I tried to explain to him about the complaint earlier but he wasn't interested he thought he was being very clever.

later still I got another call allegedly from the police telling me that a complaint about the earlier incident and that i was deemed responsible for what happened and action would be taken against me. That was the last straw and i phoned the taxi firm he worked for their answer was that it was nothing to do with them and that their booking sheets showed the driver was elsewhere at the time although she did challenge me to give her the details of the policeman so she could phone them direct. I decided to phone the police back and they knew nothing about this so I suspect that this was another crank call.

The upshot is that when driver pranks start going too far which happens frequently in this town and it starts to cause problems there is NO law and order to reign them in the council is too busy counting their fees to actually control the situation and the police certainly don't want to know so drivers get away with almost anything including

Touting
Illegal ranking up in no parking zones
Cherry picking fares
Poaching other peoples fares
Overcharging customers
Using the taxi rank as a car park


it is human nature that where no law and order exists people always do what they want and round here everyone seems determined to make sure nobody gets any sort of punishment for any offence wether it is upsetting the general public and getting drivers a bad name or illegal practices and quite frankly lawlessness prevails round here so I think the member of the public who made this comment is correct

In Stamford taxi drivers are the scum of the earth

Hopefully only a few, not them all.

well so far today we've had drivers shouting loads of four letter abuse across a busy market !!! That did our image the world of good. Our peterborough friends blocking the limited rank space by not moving forwards and when another driver took matters into their own hands and moved in front to make a point they retaliated by bombarding his board with false bookings and thats just the stuff i know about


round here its the WILD WEST there aint no sheriff and the marshalls don't want to get involved

Anyone who wants a plate can get one our council aint fussed all they want is the money pikeys, assylum seekers, convicted kidnappers as long as they get their £200 quid and your vehicle has passed its test

No vehicle age limits
No local knowledge needed
No need to be able to speek English
Criminal record ? no problem as long as it isn't for a sex offence

It's not their £200. Councils are not supposed to make a profit from licencing vehicles.

I think he has, but as usual nobody wants to listen, to the OP, you gotta nail this Wayne bloke or he's gonna play you all day every day, from what you wrote he's a 1st class bully, and bullies are jellyfish, ask him to come have a look at something round in the alley and batter him good and proper, make sure you give him the warning not to squeal afterwards or he gets some more next week, fire with fire mate.

Now there's an idea

One thing a man has to learn is that if he's being ridden the only way it will stop is if he steps up to the plate and shows his misery maker he ain't gonna put up with it anymore, I suspect on a further read this is a young nut job having a go at a middle/old aged man.

It'd be a nice world if we didn't have this sort playing ppl up all the time, but as that ain't gonna change anytime soon, it's either stand up or put up with, I just know what I'd do if this t*** was chucking paper all over my car etc, and as you have to prove it all the time ain't it better to adapt to their tactics as a method to stop them.
