I hope your right...but I fear even the local MP or MSP is plugging the service..what the MP/MSP hasnt twigged yet is that half the Postcodes he's sending information packs to isnt even in his own constituancy...or indeed even in his own country...such is life on the England - Scotland border...Doh!

Round here the volunteer drivers work on a fixed rate per journey of £2.00 which is not too bad for them when most journeys are usually no more than 2 miles the "clients" have to pay a membership fee of £3.00 to be included in the scheme although that might now have changed

Then that is 100% illegal and in breach of the 1976 act.

more illegal than stretch 16 seater non-O licenced limos?...

well i can tell you where NOT to ask if you want a result in your favour

the taxman
ambulance services across the nation
voluntary services (usually part of the same council that takes your license fees)

Well..Intend getting answers from somewhere, its not just me that affected its anybody in a similar area...the Volunteers list of Candidates who qualify for Volunteer transport is far to broad and inexhaustive, it covers more people than it doesnt cover...it is having an affect and a lot of my runs seemingly have dissapeared..no more trips to the corn club, the dentists, the Village shops. its unfair competition pure and simple, more so now when folk with time on their hands want to earn a few tax fee quid from their car during the day

No because it is a MEMBERSHIP based scheme which apparently circumvents that act

Doesn't matter a jot, if someone is being paid or gaining an advantage by taking folks from A to B in a vehicle then they need a license. Be that HC, PH or PSV.

There is no other way of doing it legally.
