Mr Brown did a cracking job, and put in a hell of a lot of time / effort and money, with regards challenging the City Of York Council on issues that stand to cost the Hackney trade in this town as individual's £1000's more each year.
To them that made contributions, well done, including the one's that managed to even find £5.
To them that didn't, or have come up with every Han's Christian Anderson and full of s...
You make me sick!!!!

Qualities for York Taxi NVQ ....... Greed / Selfishness / Lazy / individualism / I'm alright jack attitude / arrogance / ignorance / small minded / Blah Blah Blah.
That is why in this town, the Hackney trade will be at the mercy of every group who know they can do as they wish with it.
No wonder we are the joke of the trade on here and the rest of the country.
Good news is for many of you, i have received my application form this morning for stacking shelves's at Tesco's, 4 x10hr nights at £9.87 ph which will enable me to come out just on a Fri / Sat 3 out of 4 weeks and take the cream out of the Job and blow. If you can't beat em! Join em!!!

If the LA had brought in the policy correctly I doubt there could have been a challenge.

Since when did a black car cost £1000's more than any other coloured car,

I would have thought it was common sense, to do it whilst it's free instead of waiting until it's compulsory then having to pay, or will Mr Browne challenge that as well

Good news is for many of you, i have received my application form this morning for stacking shelves's at Tesco's,

that is brilliant news, good bye

Hello, i have so missed you, but guess you have been busy teaching, no conflict of interests there then.
And yes couldn't agree more take it while it's free, typical taxi driver attitude, it's just how it came about in the first place that concerned me and many others, but that's history now.

You seemed to have missed the point completely, it's not just Black or the cost of a Black vehicle that was at stake here, principals/emphay/ a sense of right and wrong for all, not just the select few.

While it may never affect some self deluded capitalist like your self, i on the other hand can find my self with a £10000 car on finance and no plate on the back of it at any time the licensee decides to cash in, where before i could have at least supported my family and paid my bills by going private hiring, this would no longer be possible under the Black policy, and you wonder why people have decided to support others in matters of representation, beyond belief!!!!!!

Thank you for referring to me as your mate, it was that way for a lot of years but never mind, instead of paying rent you could have bought a plate but like me you were bothered about de regulation so did not take the plunge, I still know where there is a cheaper long term rent available, calle me,

That is very kind, and even though i am a born again atheist and a liberal communist, it is very tempting to take you up on your offer.
But clarification is needed on a few points first.
(1) I am not your mate and never have been.
(2) I have never had access to funds or finance to be able ever to purchase a license, even when they were only 20k, deregulation wasn't a problem for me, money was, and at that time, the people dealing with the council and various bodies certainly instilled more confidence than them trying to do the same job over the last 5 years.
That all said, i would certainly consider a secure longterm plate on these condition's, even though i was quite looking forward to a rewarding career at Tesco's
(1) Rental contract is for 5 Years agreed at £125 a week, subject to a index linked increase each year based on the retail price index.
(2) You provide the security and finance guarantee enabling me to purchase a New Black Volkswagen Passat 140bhp turbo diesel with satnav.
(3) I get my NVQ thrown in, without having to turn up, and i get a mark of 99.8%
(4) When i am holiday (Normally 8 weeks a year) i don't have to pay rent.
(5) You contribute 75% of the station permit.
(6) And you dont forget to send me a Birthday and Xmas card.

Think if we can get somewhere near the above i may well possibly be interested.
