If anyone doubts the merits of this blog’s updates on the Fraser Eagle administration & the scam Kevin Dean is trying to run as ‘Connect Point UK Ltd’, please read this post.

On 19 Feb 09, Fraser Eagle Business Solutions, prior to the other Fraser Eagle companies entering administration, was renamed to Connect Point (UK) Ltd - registration number 04004048 - and Kevin Dean became sole Director after the resignation of Nicola Cummings.

On 03 Mar, Fraser Eagle then put the remaining 8 Fraser Eagle companies in administration.

Subsequently, several existing Fraser Eagle suppliers (inc taxi, bus and coach companies) - many of which were creditors of Fraser Eagle (some companies are owed as much as £360,000) - were contacted by fax by Connect Point UK Ltd to enquire if they would work for this new company. The fax was by a John Humphreys, and referenced the fact that the supplier was a known to have worked for Fraser Eagle - but made no reference at all that they themselves were a Fraser Eagle company.

One taxi company decided to check up on Connect Point UK Ltd, and found this very blog through Google. On reading several of the posts, they became aware of the fact that Connect Point UK Ltd was effectively the same company as Fraser Eagle - who still owed them several thousand pounds.

The taxi company then rang Connect Point UK Ltd back to explain that they would not consider doing any work for them, and had found out they were Fraser Eagle - which Connect Point UK did not deny.

So, who knows what would have happened if they had took Connect Point UK’s work on - or how many other companies could be scammed by Connect Point UK Ltd? It’s reasonable to presume Connect Point UK Ltd would have acted the same as Fraser Eagle did, i.e. get a supplier to do as much work as possible until being placed on ’stop’ for not paying bills, then go and find another supplier?

Have you been contacted by Connect Point UK Ltd? Please tell us your story, using the comments box below.

We’ve already saved one taxi operator from a potential scam, and hopefully by spreading the word about Connect Point UK Ltd others may benefit.

I wonder if the concern shared by folks on TDO about this iffy firm will be repeated via Private Hire Monthly magazine?

Or has anyone received an e-mail from the National Private Hire Association advising caution when dealing with this firm?

What's the bet the answers to both questions is no?

be carefull of accusing anyone of a scam as such

what they have done is 100% legal

unethical maybe, distasteful certainly, but not illegal

i lost £14K by the same means (not FE), the culprit has just bought a big pub and eatery down devon way...

Can't you get something into circulation Sussex warning cab firms of Connect Point?? I'd hate to see more cab firms getting ripped off by Fraser Eagle AKA Connect Point. Cab firms are going to be taking any sort of work on in this economic climate.

There is plenty of information on this forum about Fraser Eagle/Connect Point. The best way that I can see of keeping the subject to the fore is to continue making posts about them so that the subject doesn't get lost.

in such times credit control should be a major issue, if the greedies grab work and dont get paid for it they only have themselves to blame.

And when someone types 'Connect Point' into google (as any sensible supplier should) they get links to these threads and iffy newspaper articles.
