No, but i bet you have......LOL

So you don't care that unlicensed ph are operating 100 yards from your office?

I wouldn't say that i don't care, just not enough to complain about it, i try and leave the complaining to others.

If they are out of town PH they should be reported cos if something happens it's not their reputation that will be damaged but yours as the public don't always recognise the difference. It is your duty to protect your drivers reputation, IMO :D

I'm confused :? How on earth is another company's cars parked outside their own office going to effect my drivers reputation?

Also, what i am supposed to report them for, lurking with intent? Maybe our LO will come round and stake out their office.....that's extremely unlikely.

As far as i am aware no one has accused them of working on our patch, so what's the problem? they certainly don't effect my business.

Would it be fair to suggest that you also lower your settle until you have proven that the gamble has paid off

Can you answer this as well please :D

I would definitely agree that if i made a business decision that resulted in my drivers losing money then it would also be fair to reduce my rent/driver charges accordingly.

By the way i don't have any plans to increase any of my driver charges even if our promotion does increase takings, but all my drivers will receive reduced bills for the last week due to problems with our switch over from Sirius to Evo, more about that later.

It wasn't Auriga's fault, i made what now feels like some school boy errors that i feel i should have spotted before our go live, but alas i didn't.

I always knew that we were going to have some serious pricing issues with the change over from zonal to mileage fare calculation, the main problem is that we had [edited by admin] Sirius over the last 15 years to get it to price correctly. It's actually quite technical stuff regarding what we did to Sirius but needless to say it didn't transfer too well in to our Evo system.

An awful lot of late nights and early morning brain storming sessions have been done over the last 11 day's just to get somewhere close to where we wanted to be at with our pricing. Finally on Thursday of this week we got very close to resolving these issues, unfortunately my control room staff now have to go through a very complicated process just to get the correct price on a job, I/we are now working on resolving this.

It doesn't appear to.

Yes, but we decided against meters, what we really want is the facility to automate up-lift by zone/post code using Evo, that would really sort out all of our problems. Another possible fix that i am considering is to go back to zonal fares, however this would take several weeks to build the database with around 100,000 data entry's required.

Could the drivers not do in manually in the meantime? :?

That's something else we considered but we are now at a position which i feel is better than drivers having to manually fare every job.

From todays Lincolnshire Echo...

"New route system is a price buster"

After 18 years of using a "zone to zone" system 180 car firm Discount Cabs has invested in more sophisticated MapPoint technology for pre booked trips.
The old method took the journey distance as the crow flies and added 20%, but the Monson Street based bussiness's new software can more accurately judge the distance travelled.
"The old system stood us in very good stead for those years, but at the back end of last year, we decided to change." said managing director ***** ****.
"We found that more people aren't travelling long distances by taxi and the number of short journeys was increasing"
"With this new system we hoped to knock the prices down by 10 to 15 per cent and we've found that people are very appreciative"

END.

Are the drivers as happy?
