As stated in thread after thread I believe all taxi drivers should be trained.

WHY???? I'm going to do a college course to enable me to teach the Police how to do their job. They'd soon tell me to F**K off when I waltz into the Police Station and tell them that I'm here to teach them how to do their job better. They'd bend me over and ram the truncheon up my arris.

Why should you not teach the police sounds ok to me since we had a car
salesman teaching a class full of experienced hacks the taxi btec

Your F***IN kidding?? The drongo that was teaching the drivers up our way had served time for benefit fraud and used to work for Help The Aged as a van driver.

Gotta go just have to nip up the uni teachin a class of doctors a bit of brain
surgery 8) 8) 8)

You get what you deserve. All that intelligence and not one of you thought to walk out and report it to the relevant people

The people doing the bullying are those who are trying to teach us to be better drivers. It didn't work round our manor though the licensing officer paid a visit to the class to tell the instructor that the Council will not be implementing the course, that's all it is it'a a course which you can't fail which the instructor is getting nearly £1,000 per person, how many LO's and owners of firms are getting a nice big back handers from the instructors as an incentive for them to push drivers towards the test.

Word on street round our way is that one operator was offered £200 per driver he sent on the course, he's got 70+ drivers so he's made a nice little earner from nothing.

Did nobody seek advice from their trade reps about all this. It is quite clearly inappropriate for these people to be teaching the Btec/VRQ or NVQ unless they have relevant experience in the field they are teaching. Even the dumbest LO should realise that their drivers are not getting the delivery of the course by the people they should be

One year ago 100 drivers were suspended for refusing to do the course
the local trade rep suggested they should look for other jobs

You have made a good point.

I wonder if your local trade had got their act together right at the beginning of this, or even before the LO discussed these course with councillors, rather than fighting it once the deed was done, you might have had a better outcome. :?
