I was at Birmingham today paying my £2 to park for 30 mins, the poor bloke at the next machine tapped me on the shoulder and said is this right mate pointing at the £32 displayed on the machine. He had been there for 2 hours and not read the signs (£1-15mins, £2-30mins and £5 for every 15 mins after) Bet he wont do that again.

They've had his pants down with that charge.

That has got to be an abuse, and I would consider contacting the OFT over that.

He had obviously parked it the drop off area. He should have used the multi story next to it. There are signs as you go in telling you to use the short stay car park for picking up and the rapid drop off for , well dropping off.

They've been charging that at Brumport for some time now and the signs are clear and prominently located so if your daft enough to not bother reading them

I remember last year that a local cabbie from these parts went and parked on the RED car park at Stansted but didn't read the signs that say £25 if you go over the 15 minutes well some people seem to be only able to learn the hard way

Unless payment is needed to raise the barrier to get out, it is generally safe to ignore such tickets issued by private companies.
