It's the avian flu panic all over again.

Worldwide governments keep people worried about some looming disaster, to cover the things they're doing that should really worry us.

Or is it just that I got the wrong message from the book "State of Fear" by Michael Crichton?

Nope, you is spot on, there is a study that proves the pauper class needs something to worry about to stop him becoming restless in life, I know that doesn't sound right, but it's the way it is.

Almost as good as the Anthrax in duty free perfume rumour some years back, I think it was started by Mr B Ootsthechemist iirc to counter falling sales.

your forgetting we havent had a decent sized war since 1945 to reduce the peasant/working classes, we have 3 million out of work bleeding the country via benefits, we need to shed about 2.5million (not 3 million, and not 4 million or the available workforce can dictate wages)

maybe its really a USA germ warfare experiment gone wrong....or right if that was the plan.

the sellers of the antivirus are probably american too....now wouldnt that be a coincidence...

oh look..........

Quote:
A new flu virus suspected of killing as many as 81 people in Mexico has the potential to become a pandemic, the World Health Organization's chief says.

Margaret Chan said the outbreak was a "health emergency of international concern" and must be closely monitored.

Health experts say tests so far seem to link the illnesses in Mexico with a swine flu virus in the southern US.

Several people have also fallen ill in the US, and the authorities there are watching the situation.

A top US health official said the strain of swine flu had spread widely and could not be contained.

Picked up at Term 3 this morning 4 people from San Francisco who had spent a week in Mexico. Why worry?

It's a load of hype generated by the media who are fed up with talking about the recession!

80 people worldwide die of 'Swine' Flu, the media goes potty.

Thousands die every year in Britain alone of the common cold or flu and no one bats an eyelid.

More sensationalism.

Bird Flu comes to mind.

I bet HMG will spend more on this "pandemic" than on cancer research, but swineflu is making the headlines...
