Drivers in Bracknell had for some time been ineffectual in dealing with their council despite the best efforts of their Association, so naturally they contacted the GMB and hey presto after some meetings and determined negotations they get un unmet demand survey!

Of course their members played a vital role in achieving this, but they will tell all and sundry that the deciding factor was GMB influence guidance and ability. Ther are ways of dealing with councils and it is NOT repeat NOT through the Courts often the recipe for disaster and bankruptcy. The members in Bracknell paid nothing more than their Union subscriptions £10.65 a month! no collections to enrich some bleeding lawyer and help buy his house in the Bahamas.

The lesson is the GMB Professional Drivers Branches have the organisational skills influence and Political clout to achive these aims, yes Associations are a step in the right direction but to solidify your influence and obtain your legitimate requirements, you cant beat the GMB so follow Bracknell and so many others to achive justice for yourselves and guarantee a living for you and your family.
