well no but how about the issue of York Council license issue theory

how many jobs worth are required to issue a taxi licence

had to endure going for my licence today, green issues were thrown out the window as hundreds of cabbies headed into town burning up fuel and poluting the place

on entering Fort Knox, sorry, York Council depot, a guard stood by, oh i realised its a taxi license team member, complete with yellow safety jacket, to deal with parking

so this is what we had

one license officer on guard at the gate, for parking issues

at the desk we had

one taxi official checking dvla licence details
one taxi official counting the payment /money
one taxi official printing the licence
after 1 hour it was all over, phew, hows about that then

the taxi licence department official who did the dvla licence details took note of my spent motoring convictions dated, 1982, i said no those are spent, sorry was the answer, head of licensing want all spent motoring convictions documented if its on your licence

It must have some thing to do with you lot, it takes them the same 5 days to do 600+ Private hire licences as it does to do 172 ish taxi licences.
Must be some thing to do with all them speeding convictions they have to log.

Would that be 'English' or 'British' and would you also be wanting to know how many of them can actually fill in their own forms and speak English :?

Sounds like York LO needs deregulating, an hour to process a form and print a license, sounds like they deffo need at least 25 more LO's to handle the one day in the year they are needed, but hey they should be on full time contracts as you never know there could be 2 days in a year the office gets swamped, good for the goose, good for the gander eh.

They could just do a few every day instead of having them all show up at once  Seems to work elsewhere.
