Hello there.
I'm still pretty new to the trade, and am working for a cab firm in a pretty big city up North. I regualrly have to drive around the rougher parts of town which include the red light district and stuff. Does anyone else find themselves driving a similar patch, and finding it incredibly depressing?
I work long shifts, and come back feeling terrible- it's been affecting my sleep too. I fear I might be obsessing over it a bit too much- how do other drivers in similar conditions releive the pressures?

Much appreciated,
Travis

You shouldn't let it get you down. They may be rough areas but as my father used to say they're salt of earth people that live there

The trade is pretty quiet at the moment which may make you feel miserable cos of the long hours you're working. You have to make sure you take time out for yourself to do the things you like or just chill. With regards to sleeping I can't really help cos I have such an irregular sleep pattern myself, but, then I always have had. I suppose with time and routine your sleep pattern may improve if you're used to having a good sleep.

Anyway make sure you keep smiling cos that'll make you feel better :D

I think it's best to only worry over the things you have influence over, clearly you don't have any control over what you see. There are folks paid bundles of money who's job is to look after the less fortunate.

Let them do their bit, and you carry on driving your cab.

That's all swell, but as I say i find myself obsessing. I seem to become taken with one of the girls who works downtown. I find myself wanting to protect her.

change your job or go on days m8. Your lack of sleep is affecting your ability to cope in the real world.

he should TAKE HER AWAY FROM ALL THIS: she would probably lamp him one and tell him to mind his own business. But I could be wrong!

If we did that with every place in Britain there'd be not a lot left  Where are you that's so bad :?

Loneliness has followed me my whole life. Everywhere. There's no escape. I'm God's lonely man.My life has taken another turn again. The days can go on with regularity over and over, one day indistinguishable from the next. A long continuous chain

That's pretty much the same for everybody. Anyway if you're alone in this wonderful place, which obviously isn't tootsville, you can move to a nicer area :D
