Talking of ..............................

Gang threatens taxi driver and forces him to drive to Enfield

DETECTIVES in Harlow are appealing for information after a taxi driver was threatened by a group of men at the weekend.

The incident happened around 3am on Saturday morning (June 6) when the 32-year-old driver picked up a group of five men from the Total Garage in Kitson Way, Harlow.

The five men agreed a price for their journey but said they needed to stop off at a cash point. Whilst driving them there, one man pressed something into the neck of the driver and demanded he drive them to Enfield.

When they reached the area the men ran off without paying the fare. The driver was unhurt, but shocked and wants to warn other drivers about the men's tactics.

The five men are described as white, aged between 20 and 25 and all had strong Irish accents.

Police want to hear from anyone who remembers seeing them in the town that evening or who has any information that may lead to their identification.

Anyone with information should contact detectives at Harlow CID on 0300 333 4444 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

No wonder they don't win much, if they play with only five players.
