Its wrong, but! the same fans will pay quadruple the going rate to see their idols, the Hotels rack up their rates because of supply and demand, the pubs slap extra on drinks, and last but not least it is the Taxi driver who is the only one that gets slagged off.

One thing deregulation will do is to turn good normally honest drivers into opportunists, because at the end of the day it will be the only way that they can make money in order to get by.

Oasis are in Cardiff on Friday and the guys are struggling big time down here, be prepared to hear the same.

Gig-goers said drivers in both private-hire cabs and black `flag-down' taxis profiteered from the chaos as thousands poured out of Heaton Park in Prestwich just after 10pm.

cobblers

i was there at 10.30pm and it was a trickle out the exit into middleton road, by 11pm nothing was moving, by 11.30pm id done 200yds and found my team of 6 fans heading home, loading outside a Texaco garage in the street.

we got onto the M60/J19, the other side was a queue of taxis trying to get off at the exit, maybe 300 vehicles, I doubt many got picked up before 00.30

at least mine left a case of beer behind in the bus, i shouted to let em know but couldnt make myself heard...

i had to laugh though, the mondeo estate with signwriting i followed at less than walking pace had about 9 knock on his window to be let in

trouble was it was a company car from a forklift company, not a taxi firm....lol

A mate of mine went on Saturday night, he said the prices they were charging for a drink and something to eat were out of this world. I bet when the punters came out of the venue they were offering the drivers inflated prices to get them back to the City.

You're right, I went to the gig on Friday and it took me ages to get a cab to Splott, it always amazes me how many black & whites are "booked" :? :?

Saying that the state I was in, I don't blame any of them for telling me to fook orf

You actually got someone to take you to SPLOTT  But there again I did indicate the drivers were desperate - I must say I did not realise it was that bad.
