A TAXI driver said he feared for his life after he was threatened with a knife and robbed of money and his taxi.
Mostafa Abdalla, 35, later found his car had been torched.
He said the incident has left him so scared he has had to install a CCTV camera in his car to make him feel safe.
"At the time I thought I was going to die," said the father-of-two from Bestwood.
"It's the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. At the time I thought I would not be going back to my kids.
"I don't like the job I do at the moment but it's the only way I can bring money to my family.
"I don't work the same hours as I did before because of what happened and the stress I have been through. I feel like I'm always looking over my shoulder."
Simon Bedding, 23, of Andover Road, Bestwood, and Daniel Miller, 23, of Lond Gardens, Top Valley, pleaded guilty to robbery at Nottingham Crown Court.
Bedding pleaded guilty to robbery on the basis that he had a knife. But Miller said he didn't know Bedding had the weapon.
Mr Abdalla said the incident happened at about 2am on January 3 when Bedding got into the taxi in Hucknall with a knife.
Bedding forced him to drive to Bestwood to pick up Miller and they then made him drive towards Moorbridge.
One of the men assaulted Mr Abdalla as he drove along Gala Way.
He stopped the car, got out and ran off, but the men chased Mr Abdalla and robbed him.
"As soon as I stopped the car and tried to get my keys the guy at the back came and grabbed my keys," said Mr Abdalla, an employee at Central Cars.
"They started chasing me for the money. I handed them the money and they started chasing me for more. I was running in the street and it was totally empty.
"I saw another taxi and was waving to the driver to help me. But the lads chased this taxi driver as well. I ran to the other side and I was lucky to see a van coming down and I ran over.
"The two then ran back to the car, jumped on it and drove off.
"I managed to ring the police and when they arrived they took me around Bestwood and Hucknall. We found my car in Padstow Road and it had been burnt out."
Bedding and Miller were both remanded in custody to be sentenced on June 30.

Lets hope they get padded up with a big black guy who's had no special loving for a few years. They'll have a sore rectum when they get out.

Judge David Price said the sentences reflected the fact that taxi-drivers were vulnerable people working at night.
