be happy!

HC have all those advantages as well if they so wish

get away.....

so why do HCs moan about PH so much then?...

Because out of all the bad news stories posted on TDO about rogue drivers, attacks, unlawfully plying for hire, rip off prices, refusal to take guide dogs, unable to take wheelchairs . . . .

9/10 times it's a PH vehicle / driver involved.

Have a read through the ten zillion stories posted on here under 'taxi' driver does . . . 'taxi' driver commits . . when in 99% of the case it wasn't a Taxi driver.

Those that choose a second rate service in London get what they deserve through longer journeys, rip off prices, and drivers that can't communicate in the language of the country they've (in the main) claimed asylum in.

i think its because they get no-one walking to a rank when they can ring PH and the vehicle comes to them..

So, taking London as an example, Com Cab, Radio Taxis, and Dial a Cab don't have 'radios' in them? :?

3 rank jobs from 26 jobs in total today. I'm HC with a radio and, so far, not a lot of recession. :D

Probably. But picked up from the rank today seconds before the office half offered me a job to Brighton. Unfortunately, I was clearing too far away for the time available for the pick up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes, it does work against you!

my point is that all i see/hear are HCs bemaning the fact that PHs are "stealing work" (leaving the issue of illegal flagdowns aside) when quite clearly its a level playing field

So I invest 3 years of my life learning London so I can be a professional licensed Taxi driver and get my fare paying customers from A to B without waiting on a Sat nav signal or a translater.

I buy a p.b vehicle which doesn't discriminate against those members of society who are wheelchair bound, I take a seperate DSA driving test and wheelchair test, and have my personality tested every month along with a full CRO check.

That's a level playing field against an asylum seeker who doesn't know where he is, let alone going, struggles with english, buys a £500 P reg Astra, and charges what he likes?

That's one hell of a level playing field.

Unfortunately for me?

I'd say unfortunately for you 'Toots'.

If the rest of the country had our quality controls, you wouldn’t have half the competition you have to presently contend with.

Only the committed would be your competitors, not every clown that turns up from Poland with a driving license.

You do tend to generalise dont you.....!

what proportion of non-HCs nationwide are asylums in p-reg astras?
