If you go totally mobile, won't it cost more per month? How much is mobile broadband compared to landline broadband? If it is more than 50p per month more, it would be cheaper to stay with the landline.

ive got cable broadband, so i dont need a "landline phone" to get stung £12 a year till eternity for, to subsidise the great unwashed/giros/chavs to get broadband.

its amazing how little we CAN use the landlines

my mobile is 300+300 for £10 a month

i wonder if the "broadband tax" will apply to skype?

theres a thought!

The idea is good at heart, the idea is to give everyone access to the net for education purposes, and you do go up a level using the net for the right things, unfortunately the target audience will just use it to subscribe to Facebook and sit in a chatroom all day, maybe they should bombard those ppl with job vacancy e.mails instead.

theres a few locally who dont need my 50p a month as the 13 kids they have must generate enough JSA+other giros to pay for thier own bloody internet

and what about the OAPs with a landline phone who will be FORCED to pay £12 a year into a pot for something they will never use or even maybe understand?

its a goverment scam

They could use the mobile masts to speed thing up by putting in a few more in low coverage areas then boosting the power output.
Or even use the TV masts and do away with some of the digital channels so they could be used for super fast 50Mbps BB like they have done in parts of Japan by means of wireless BB

I have a great idea

If the great unwashed want something, let em graft for it...

Oh no, once subsidised BB is available, little leroy, brooklyn and beyonce can get a free computer and download mp3s and twitter away free of charge..
