Could anyone object to the council condition through the magistrates???

Yes, but is it really worth it?

£50-£150 for a medical, £???? for a court case?

You tell me. :?

I dont know wether it would get as far as the courts, does all policy change have to go that far, or could they decide to change it at a meeting?
Also would it have to say in the license conditions that you have to go to your own doctor for the medical?
This is what it says in our conditions

Licensed drivers shall submit a medical certificate on the first renewal after the
age of 45, 50, 55, 60, 64 and on every renewal thereafter.

Or can they stipulate any thing they want in a letter?

Ha ha £15 an hour you must be joking, not many give you a pension either, and alot of the HGV jobs being advertised now are not giving much more than minimum wage.
Agencies advertise those rates but you never get them, and dont believe the hype about driver shortages either, its a ploy by hgv training schools to get mugs to part with £1500 or more to pass.
Taxiing must be really bad in you manor.

1 quick search, just for starters.....lol

i think £500 a week PAYE beats the much-maligned rates HC drivers are getting hands down

£700 is even better

In one of the posts, it said that if you go to the joke centre they will pay to put you through your hgv test any idea how this is done???
Would you have to take a theory test as well

I am sure you had to be signing on for at least six months to qualify, problem is its only the class 2, once you pass your test nearly every company wants at least 2 years experience before they will employ you.
catch 22 no exp no job etc.

A mate took his "Class 2" then his "Class 1" (old terms) and passed, he turned down the first job offer (3am start, too early!)

the second one he also turned down:-

Collect unit+trailer from coventry, drive to Portsmouth, cross to Santander/Bilbao, drive 30 minutes into Spain to tip and drive back again...

Said he hadnt driven in the UK yet!

Yes you can drive a bus, but not for hire or reward so not much use, unless your a fitter, you need full group D on your licence, which you dont get with a class 2.
