It keeps our 'guest' figures up though.

I've never seen so many visitors online.

The good news is that through proper negotiation, instead of hysteria, the LTDA and LCDC have now negotiated and secured 8 new nightime ranks outside some of Londons best night clubs to give the customers the choice of a first class licensed Taxi, or a second rate tout.

This opens a whole new chapter in the relationship between Westminster Council and the LTDA, and we hope many more such schemes may be on the cards.

Martin Low has done well on this one. =D>

I'd be interested to see how they propose we "work this venue" ?

all good news...............i was chatting to Steve Mc last night and he said a similar thing..........you sure you're not one and the same ??

If we do get these ranks then it's in no small part down to the "hysteria" created by the many drivers like myself who have been outside these venues night after night providing a service to the public who chose to use us. Had we never kick started the whole thing then i'm sure that we would all still be riding on the back of a demo that ultimately achieved very little.

The LTDA/LCDC should be rightly commended for getting WCC to finally agree to these ranks but they should of been doing this way before the drivers had to take it upon themselves to try and rectify the situation.

Sadly the satellite office situation seems here to stay! The only hope is that the PCO repeal the act they implemented but i can't see that happening.

But what happens when the credit crunch is no more and the hacks don't service it? :?

Well this remains to be seen.

I raised this very point with John Kennedy, who appeared to share the same concerns.

I guess it's a bit like Stations though, some drivers will always work a rank or area they like / know best.

The Nobu Restaurant seems to have attracted a bit of a following, so here's hoping.

I was a tad disappointed to see the efforts at Argyle Street seem to have subsided, I was the only Taxi in attendance during my three visits on Thursday morning.
Let’s hope a marked rank will encourage more.

Hi chris,

You wont be alone soon on most ranks as that nice man Mr Weimar from TfL, is going to do what you said would never happen (remember or have you just got selective memory) and give mini cab places to wait to be hired or as we call them RANKs, all over London according to the TfL web site.
read all aboutit

Funny silent Bob was at all the meetings but failed to mention it.

PS, Brummie Cabbie nice to see you back in the saddle. Hope you are well.

Jim Thomas.

What is the point of a voluntary code of practise? :?

Either something is licensed and legal, or it's not.

So I'm Chris now? I've a lot of names haven't I? :D

Well since you and 'John the angry cabbie Kennedy' have all the answers, go and sort it out, you're always telling anyone who will listen (a diminishing number I gather) that the LTCPR (Who) and an online forum with 20 regular contributors is saving the London trade, so I’m sitting back and waiting.

You find all the perceived problems, now toodle off and find all the solutions.

Get your new socialist buddies from the RMT to solve it, all 300 of you.

But they won't. :-$

The question surely is, do they get free rail travel?

Thats right, you sit back and leave it to people who care....
Is that what being in the LTDA does to you these days?
whats it called, follow the leader?
