You'll get your reward in heaven, you'll get a en suite bog and bathroom.

But did you get rewarded for your honesty from the customers ??

In the past I've found mobiles, purses, wallets etc etc some are kind enough to chuck me a fiver/tenner for my honesty, but some just took their belongings and slammed the door in my face.

One woman lost her make-up bag on the back seat and gave me a score when I took it back :D

In London, you get a reward when the customers collects their belongings, but I've found most folks want their phones back straight away, so I treat it like a fare and charge them as such.

Most lost phones can be reunited with their owners with a quick glance as they leave the Taxi.

I got a nice card and a gift voucher from a lady who was reunited with her digital camera that I took to the police station a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was good of her to take the trouble. I never expect any reward for goods handed in.

I remember a few years ago having to post some personal belongings left in the taxi back to the customer we phoned them up to check they'd received them and to request reimbusement of our costs. They acknowledged receipt BUT told me in no uncertain terms that it was my responsibility and my expense returning their possessions !!

On that basis they would be TOLD where they could pick up their stuff ( to suit my time schedule), other than that I would hand it in to my local nick which is about 10 miles from Cardiff.

As a point of interest do we have to hand stuff into the Tariff area i.e anywhere in the Tariff area radius, or can we hand it in anywhere in the U.K?

what bothered me was the lady with the purse (at least 400 euros in it) had left it in the very rear row of seats, if i had picked up another fare and the purse had vanished i can bet id get the blame.....

as it was my next job was my school run and she was lucky

There is an offence which is called stealing by finding... you commit this offence by not handing in what you find at a police station.... so no matter what anybody says... if you find something you hand it in at the police station.... any police station.... otherwise you can be prosecuted..... and I have seen drivers prosecuted for this offence.....
