What I don't think is a good idea is this call-back text that costs the punters 35p.

What a way to lose punters, and give more grief to drivers.

A system that allows voice as well as data.

So when it's busy we can decide which job is nearer to us not the computer. Last night it was mobbed and all I did was keep passing my mates.

If you have a no show at a pub/club/restaurant, the computer will send you away to the next job. But what happens if the second to next job is at the place you are?

Will the computer work it out, no it will not, it will send you away because it knows best. When it doesn't.

Sounds like all the systems currently on the market.

Will decide the top job on list and then work on next.

That is why we never go on autopilot cos it should be called Autopillock.

I appreciate with a 100 car fleet you won't have much time for that, but with anything smaller you need to think better than the system to get most out of your drivers. Drivers may sit waiting for jobs a bit longer but more rfficient use of them overall.

you do suprise me the Auriga lads have been extroling its virtue for years, must confess I was hoping you would say Diplomat but expected you to say cab master.

just as a matter of interest the Mercury system allows you( if you want the system programmed that way) to get your own jobs off the screan, but the dispatcher can override this to send another job so they all get done.

we have mercury but I am not brave enough to allow that system to be used, we would have fighting on the ranks.

Am I right in thinking you are one of the lucky owners of the new Evocab system?

And as for Raywood, I went on their stand at Telford for a demo, the four people on the stand could NOT show me how to enter an account job on the system and three of them had flown from Australia to be on the stand.

That was the most memorable moment at a show since IVOR told me that GPS was never going to catch on and I should fix a compass to my speedo to tell me where the cars are.

Happy days Ivor.

I think we still have the old system because my display hasn't been upgraded.
Today has been a bit better but jobs have been sent out to one driver and 3 minutes later sent out to another.
Then when they reboot all the work beforehand and work taken during the reboot is lost.
Funny thing is that i quite like it bar voice when its mobbed.

When it's quiet, data is great.

When it's busy, data isn't so great.

There end'th the lesson.
