The number of airport permits will be rising to 450 over the next five years thought.

The magical number of 300 cabs permits to work at the airport for 2009/2010 has now been reached & applicant number 301 onwards are now on the waiting list.

Those that thought PTS were bluffing when they said that they would limit the number of permits have had a very rude awakening.

Many thought it was their divine right to work at the airport, because in BASTA days it was & they thought nothing would change.

I suspect that number was part of the contract.

I'm still intrigued as to how any cab firm can lose £300,000 in a year. :?

Yes, permit limits were in the contract.

PTS wanted a 250 permit limit in the first year, but the airport wanted 300.

From 1st June 2010, the maximum age of any cab working at the airport will be 10 years old.

This will reduce annually by one year to a maximum age of 7 year old cabs over the next few years.

They spent the money on VERY BAD MANAGEMENT including a loss of £147,700 on a fledgling taxi radio system that never really got off the ground & was sold in 2008 for £72,500.

And bank interest & charges amounted to almost £60K.

I agree, losing in the region of £300,000 a year is clear evidence of a pi** poor company run by a pi** poor management.

Many, many thanks for that Mr Sussex.

I didn't know the judgements were available on the Internet.

Thanks again.

The most interesting part was that the old lot had the contract, but lost it. :?

The new drivers all looked very smart last night in their black trousers and white shirts.

What a difference a month makes & a new taxi management company, i.e. PTS.

Do you miss the BASTA drivers in their pyjamas?

I was talking to one driver and he said the difference is that PTS is run by business men and BASTA was run by cabbies.

I bet that business man doesn't lose £300,000 a year.
