An interesting point, and clearly cost is the only issue.

So why don't folks get the cost of CCTV put into their fare formula, and then let the punters pay.

It doesn't matter whether the cab is fitted with CCTV or not, it only works when it is switched on...... I fitted CCTV... to all my vehicles.... and most of the drivers never switched it on..... it comes down in the end to a personal choice, end of..

Get them installed through the government livability fund, your council will have funds available from central government for issues like this. We got ours installed this way.

Your local Council should tell you all about it, I've tried finding a link from our lot but the website is as old as me, I think they still run it on coal.

Charles..... have you ever given thought to what could possibly happen if CCTV were made compulsory...... and you had to have it on all the time..... if you turned it off you would be committing an offence..... condition of licence..... then of course you would be providing evidence against yourself.... all those little things that happen in the day... stopping to get sweeties from the sweetshop.... double yellow lines... just catching that amber light..... telling an abusive passenger to go away quickly.... turkeys voting for Christmas springs to mind.
