John you misunderstand me I think.
The NTA website was initially started during January 2003, by a cab driver, as a favour to the NTA admin officer, it was never meant to be anything other than a place on the web for the NTA, with perhaps a members area where members could put regional news and minutes.
I don’t doubt that there will be more links on this site, I don’t think I said there would be.
You should perhaps
a, contact the NTA and offer your services (free of charge obviously)
b, join the NTA and express your view
I was trying to articulate that a national organisation should lead from the front. To some, especially me, believe that the NTA who put themselves forward as being the National voice of the Taxi trade should find their way into the modern world.
It shouldn't be left up to the good will of an individual to give them a web presence, they should say right lets get a web presence and keep the taxi trade informed.
The NTA are living in the past but they are not the only ones living in the dark ages, my own association is guilty of that too, along with many others.
My own feelings are that once limited numbers are no longer an issue a new generation of forward thinkers will emerge who will take this trade into the 21st century, I wont be around then but that’s my belief.
If my post echoes the disillusionment that the NTA and NTTA are doomed to oblivion, then so be it.
Perhaps one of those forward thinkers is amongst the subscribers to this website, who knows? But the forward thinkers will emerge, as the pivotal rallying point and those that have lived in the past will fade away.
That’s my belief, time will tell if it happens but if it does? Remember who said it first lol
Best wishes.
