2.8 Contacts with licensing authorities in other areas where multiple garages are used reveal that it is difficult to ensure a consistent approach is taken to achieve common standards. At present around 80-90% of tests in Bury are carried out by the same skilled tester giving a high degree of consistency and access to expert witnesses.

We only have one testing station here but they have more than one tester. We used to have 2 others but I don't know what happened to them or why they no longer do the testing. IMO I think there should at least be 2 testing stations :-|

isnt it normal for LAs to put the testing out to tender and the lowest gets the work, they then find every little fault possible to repair and top it up?

well my plate is up for renewal in september, it hasnt had the extra tests threatened by the LA, it didnt have an MOT when it went in for its 1st plate as it already had a current MOT, it just had a compliance test, whatever that is

"total lack of consitency" springs to mind, lets have two VOSA tests a year at HGV testing stations, VOSA-fy the whole damn thing

All the more reason to do it then. If vehicles wouldn't pass a vosa testing then they shouldn't be running the public around :D
