BASTA took this matter to the High Court again on Wednesday 15th July 2009, for a Judicial Review.

The judgment was due either yesterday, Friday 17th July or on Monday 20th July.

They apparently had to raise £34K before they would let them into court, because 'Surety of Costs' was asked for.

But somehow they must have raised the £34K.

Goodbye thirty-four thousand pounds!!!

Why would you think that there would be private hire at Birmingham Airport?
As I see it the contract to run TAXI services has been given to another company. They are running TAXIS from the airport just like BASTA did. It is just different TAXIS.

That's the trouble with the HC trade, whilst they sit back thinking everything is fine the PH trade is planning behind their backs :shock:

I think toots has it about right......in my view for all of BASTA (d's) faults it was an organising factor......whats there now?.....looks like a disorganised rabble ready to be stood on......or ridden roughshod over.

Now have I got this right. Both you and CC are of the opinion that the people that now run the Taxis from Birmingham airport are realy just doing it until they can get it changed to PH? Why would they be doing that? What difference will it make to them if they are getting their "fee" from Hacks or PH?

Private hire will offer a more structured service, more consistant in appearance, uniform and attitude with only one point of contact for everything. They'll also pay more for the priviledge

PRIVATE HIRE CAN CHARGE WHAT THEY LIKE WHICH WILL ENABLE THE OWNERS OF THE COMPANY TO CHARGE THE CUSTOMER X AND PAY THE DRIVER Y MAKE A SMALL FORTUNE IF THEY RUN IT PROPERLY.
